With the Minnesota Timberwolves losing All-Star Anthony Edwards for two months due to a knee injury, ESPN's Iman Shumpert revealed the potential adjustments in store for the team this season. While some have speculated the Timberwolves making a trade to make up for the loss, not everyone see that as a solution for Minnesota.
The Timberwolves will most likely lean on players such as LaMelo Ball and Jaden McDaniels for additional offense, as Shumpert noted, per ESPN's SportsCenter.
“I don't think they have to make an adjustment. I think LaMelo Ball being there presents the type of basketball that Minnesota wants to play,” Shumpert said. “They want to get up and down. They want to play freely. They want to pick their spots. I think the only person that takes this adjustment is Jaden McDaniels when he starts to understand that right now, I need to just be thinking more score-first mentality. And understanding how to become more and more efficient on the day-to-day.
“How do I get to my certain spots every game? And now my teammates know these are the spots on the floor that I want to get to. And now my teammates know, these are the spots on the floor that I want to get to. And now they can help me put together a package of scoring that can be 15 points in regular offense. Then, the extra eight to 10 points, either from the free-throw line, or being able to get to your spots in a comfortable spot.”
Ahead of the Timberwolves facing Jonathan Kuminga's former team, the Golden State Warriors, without Anthony Edwards, ESPN's Iman Shumpert reminded fans of the one player he wouldn't like to see taking on an increased role for Minnesota.

I don't want him to take on so much of a responsibility that we see bad decision-making because I do think he's a great addition to their ball club.”
The Timberwolves will host the Warriors on Wednesday.
