Former WWE Champion Penta is quietly doing a saint's work in his home country of Mexico. WWE Superstar Rusev recently opened up about Penta's philanthropic work in Mexico while speaking to TMZ.
“Also, he’s a great guy. He’s got so many — he’s helping so many kids in Mexico. You guys have no idea because he doesn’t talk about it, but in private conversations, [he’s told me] he’s helped like tons of orphans, people with no homes. He buys them truckloads of toys and clothes and helps these kids. He’s a tremendous guy. If people get to know him, they’d love him as a person,” Rusev shared.
Hailing from a small town in Mexico, Penta has already given back to his hometown of Ecatepec, Mexico, through several community and business initiatives. In 2024, the WWE Superstar opened a restaurant dedicated to his father. Near his restaurant, Penta also runs a gym that provides personalized lucha libre training, boxing classes, and MMA lessons for local residents.
Last year, in an interview [via ESPN], Penta opened up about the reasons behind the community work he does for Ecatepec. “I stand by the people [of Ecatepec], not because I can't go anywhere else, but because they've been there for me since Day 1,” said Penta, who keeps his real identity a secret in true lucha libre tradition. “Maybe they themselves don't know, but for me it's like I never left the neighborhood.”
