The Charlotte Hornets are just over two weeks away from kicking off the upcoming 2026-27 regular season. The Hornets are entering this year with a new look after trading point guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a deal that brought back Naz Reid, confusing some fans.

One of the remaining cornerstones for Charlotte is wing Brandon Miller, who had a career year last season amid Charlotte's hot second half of the campaign.

Now, the Hornets have gotten more intel on what kind of money Miller might be looking for on his next contract.

“Although health is a slight concern for Miller early on in his career, the two sides have progressed in contract talks, and the Hornets' young star is expected to reach terms on a new deal that exceeds $200 million,” reported ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel.

Siegel also reported that “…recent deals given to Franz Wagner (5yr/224M), OG Anunoby (5yr/212.5M), and Amen Thompson (5yr/208M) have been topics of conversation in negotiations for Miller and his camp.”

As Siegel referenced, health has been an issue for Miller throughout his career thus far, as has slight inconsistency even when he's on the court. However, he was mostly able to quell those concerns last year, proving himself to be a valuable two-way wing who can hit threes and function as a secondary offensive creator in the half-court.

While some fans may not consider him to be in the same tier of player as Wagner, Anunoby, and Thompson, for a Charlotte team that is not exactly known as a free agent hotspot, paying him might be a worthwhile investment of their money, despite the steep price.
