The New York Giants are hoping to reverse their recent form that has seen them fail to make the playoffs in eight of their last nine seasons. So far, new head coach John Harbaugh is off to a solid start. Following their 27-27 tie with the Washington Commanders in Week 5, the Giants have a 3-1-1 record and they have a 1.5-game lead in the NFC East over the second-place Philadelphia Eagles.
The early-season injury suffered by starting quarterback Jaxson Dart will make it very hard to sustain that success over the 17-game regular season, but it is clear that head coach John Harbaugh is having a positive impact on the team. The Giants are showing they will fight for 60 minutes and won't let a deficit on the scoreboard diminish their enthusiasm.
That was definitely the case against the Commanders, as the Giants found themselves trailing 27-13 with less than 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. They scored two touchdowns to tie the score, and that sent the game to overtime.
Prior to the game, the Giants had trailed by 14 points with less than 8 minutes to play 230 times since the 1970 season. They had been 0-230 in those games. That changed in Week 5, as they are now 0-230-1 in those situations, per ESPN.

Winston completed 33 of 54 passes against the Commanders for 326 yards and 3 TD passes. His third scoring pass was a short pass to Likely in the final minute of the third quarter.
Nabers was New York's leading receiver with 11 receptions for 121 yards.
