The Big Apple let out a collective gasp after New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on “Monday Night Football.”

Dart had to be helped off the field after getting pummeled by the Rams in the first quarter. He was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Many immediately feared that the second-year quarterback might be sidelined for an extended period. Giants general manager Joe Schoen, however, gave an encouraging update, as reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

“He's going to be okay,” said Schoen.

The 23-year-old Dart went 3-of-5 for 20 yards against the Rams.

In the offseason, the Giants emphasized the need to keep Dart protected, including urging him to avoid absorbing heavy contact.

More details to come.
