New York Giants edge rusher Brian Burns left Monday night’s 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams with an ankle injury, adding another concern to a difficult night at SoFi Stadium. Burns was hurt with 6:04 remaining in the fourth quarter and needed assistance leaving the field. The Giants listed him with an ankle injury after his exit.

The setback involved one of New York’s most important defenders. Burns entered 2026 after recording a career-high 16.5 sacks, 31 quarterback hits and 22 tackles for loss last season, earning second-team All-Pro honors and his third Pro Bowl selection.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan took to X, formerly Twitter, after the game to relay John Harbaugh’s update on the pass rusher's injury.
