As the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, 23-13, it marked another disappointing outing for the team that had major expectations heading into the year. With the Cowboys' loss to the Packers, there is no denying that the fanbase and the football world are having their doubts about the team and the coaching staff, but Stephen Jones feels differently.
While there is no doubt that the executive vice president of the team, Jones, is disappointed in the results, he expresses that there is time to turn it around, saying that they “like the coaches.”
“Obviously very disappointing. Frustrated. But at the same time, we got a lot of football to play. We’ve got resolve. We just got to go back to work, we like the players, we like the coaches,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, via Jon Machota.
The figurehead of the staff is head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who is looking to lead Dallas out of the rut they're currently in, as Jones said on the show that he and Jerry Jones “absolutely” believe in him to bounce back.
“There’s not any question in Jerry [Jones] and my mind. He has the team,” Jones said. “There’s no question they want to go out there and execute and make things happen. Feel really good about our coaching staff. We just got to have it continue to evolve and get to a point to where we can win these football games.”
Brian Schottenheimer on the “hole” the Cowboys put themselves in

Praising “the man he is” regarding the ability to turn it around, Schottenheimer would also speak on the “hole” that Dallas put themselves in, via The Athletic.
“I said, you got to work, got to find solutions, can’t repeat mistakes. And they understand that. There’s definitely time to pull out of it.”
The first opportunity for the Cowboys to bounce back is Oct. 26 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
