The San Francisco 49ers are currently making preparations for their upcoming home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 49ers are coming off a bye week, looking to bounce back after they suffered their first loss of the season last time out against the Atlanta Falcons.

Running back Christian McCaffrey suffered an apparent injury that briefly sidelined him in that game, and now, the team has gotten the latest update from the man himself heading into this week's game.

“#49ers RB Christian McCaffrey said he was a bit surprised that what bothered him in Atlanta game was a hamstring. But sounds like he has a chance to return to practice and play this week,” reported NFL insider Nick Wagoner of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

“It wasn't too bad,” McCaffrey said. “I think having the bye week was awesome, but I feel great.”

McCaffrey didn't practice on Wednesday, but evidently, he doesn't appear overly concerned about his status for Sunday's contest. The 49ers were already dealing with several key injuries in the game against Atlanta, including to wide receiver Mike Evans, and quarterback Brock Purdy suffered through his worst game of the season as a result, en route to the loss.

However, things are still looking up for the 49ers overall, as they currently sit at 6-1 on the season and are welcoming in a Las Vegas team that has been on a cold stretch of late, despite a recent win over the New York Jets.

In any case, the 49ers and Raiders are set to kick things off on Sunday at 4:25 pm ET.
