The New Orleans Saints could be getting another weapon back in their offense, and Tyler Shough is already excited about what Jordyn Tyson can bring to the field. The rookie wide receiver returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis, marking his first appearance since landing on injured reserve.
Shough spoke about Tyson's return and made it clear that the young receiver has already caught his attention. The quarterback liked what he saw physically, but his comments also highlighted the playmaking ability that makes Tyson such an intriguing addition to the Saints' offense.
"When he gets the ball in his hands, he is different."

“He looks really good, clean, healthy,” Shough said about Tyson. “Obviously, a lot of logistics you gotta work through. But when he gets the ball in his hands, he is different. My main goal is to make sure he knows what he is doing. He's really smart, he is awesome.”
The most important part of Shough's comments might be his emphasis on getting Tyson comfortable with the offense. Returning from an injury is one challenge, but learning the system and building chemistry with a quarterback takes time. Shough appears ready to help make that transition as smooth as possible.
Tyson has the potential to give New Orleans another dynamic option alongside Chris Olave. His ability to create plays after the catch could add a different element to the passing attack, particularly as Shough continues developing as the Saints' quarterback.
There is still work to do before Tyson is ready to return to game action. Wednesday's limited participation is an encouraging first step, but the Saints will need to see how he progresses before determining when he can make his debut.
For Shough, the excitement is already there. Now, the next step is getting Tyson comfortable enough with the offense to turn that potential into production on Sundays.
