The little things matter in fantasy football. That includes the kicker position, which is important to teams like the Vikings. And here are the fantasy football kicker rankings for Week 5 of the 2026 season.

There are certain teams with kickers that you can rely on for points on a weekly basis. The best choice is a kicker from a team with a good defense, but a less-than-efficient offense. And that’s exactly the player we have at the top of the list this week.

Fantasy Football standouts

The Vikings simply aren’t that good on offense with Kyler Murray at the helm. Still, they should be able to move the football against the Saints’ questionable defense. But as they have shown this season, finding the end zone has proved difficult.

Plus, they have key injuries they’re sorting through on that side of the ball. Will Justin Jefferson be back in the lineup in Week 5?

Reichard has been a picture of consistency this season. Over the last three weeks, he has been K8, K2, and K1. The opportunities have been there, and he has delivered. That same thing should happen this week against the Saints.

Reichard has become kind of a cult figure with the Vikings, being called a “stone cold killer,” according to Vikings.com.

“That's it. I don't know what else to say about him,” defensive back Harrison Smith shared. “And he didn't have to become that. He walked in the door like that. It's pretty cool to watch. I'm telling you, the guy's a killer. I don't know what he does in his off time, but he's got ice in his veins.

“I don't think there's a whole lot more to it. It's not an easy thing to do, but I think it's probably pretty simple for him: ‘I'm just going to kick every field goal.”

Twice this year, Reichard has scored every point for the unbeaten Vikings (4-0).

“It feels good,” Reichard said. “I just try to do everything I can to help our team win. That's my goal coming into every game, no matter what that looks like. It's good to be able to go out there and execute.”

The Saints’ offense has been very good at times this year, mostly in the second half. But the Falcons slowed them down on Monday Night Football. And the Vikings’ defense should be able to have some success. That puts Reichard back in the spotlight again.

Another good bet is Ka’imi Fairbairn. He has a good matchup against the Titans, who have been decent enough on defense to think the Texans may have to end some drives with field goals.

Fairbairn didn’t get a lot done in the first three weeks. But he connected for three field goals in the loss to the Cowboys. Fairbairn should have a nice day in Week 5.

Other standouts

Both of the guys in this category come with risk. There’s a reasonable chance Brandon Aubrey of the Cowboys won’t get more than one or two field goal attempts. The same can be said for Cincinnati’s Evan McPherson. That’s because both the Cowboys and Bengals will likely spend the game scoring touchdowns.

The Cowboys have a no-doubt win in the bank against the banged-up Buccaneers. After not getting a field goal attempt in the season opener, Aubrey has enjoyed 11 attempts over the last three weeks. But some have been from very long distances.

And that has affected Aubrey, according to CowboysWire.com.

“Aubrey is 1-for-3 on 60+ yarders and 2-for-5 on all kicks over 50 yards,” Reid D. Hanson wrote. “He’s good, but he’s not automatic given the blocking issues in front of him. To make 60+ yard attempts worth the risk, the clock needs to either be expiring or the situation dire in the late stages of the game.”

So if your fantasy league rewards long-distance kicks, this might not be the week to expect that from Aubrey. The Cowboys may be less likely to try a field goal bomb against the Buccaneers.

One thing that could play in Aubrey’s favor is the Cowboys building a big early lead. If they’re up by three scores, they may accept a field goal instead of going for it on fourth down.

As for McPherson, he goal four field goal attempts in the opener before only two, two, and one in the last three games. The Dolphins might be able to slow the Bengals down in the red zone if Ja’Marr Chase isn’t active. However, if the Bengals have a full complement of players on the field, you could drop McPherson down a spot or two.

Fantasy Football sleepers

This looks like a good week for Daniel Carlson to have a nice game. The Vikings’ defense is good, so they should have a shot at keeping the Saints out of the end zone.

And with points potentially at a premium, the Saints might be willing to give Carlson some kick attempts from distance. Carlson didn’t get a shot for a field goal against the Raiders in Week 3. And he went 1 of 2 against the Falcons on Monday night. But that was a blowout loss. The game against the Vikings figures to be much closer.

There is risk involved with Carlson. But risk is what sleepers are made of, right?

Another good sleeper is Jason Myers. He’s rated barely inside the top 10 by the experts. However, this could be a low-scoring game against the 49ers. Field goals should be a valuable commodity.

Myers doesn’t have a top-15 finish yet this season. That should change in the matchup against the 49ers.
