The Alabama football program is currently gearing up for its upcoming game against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday evening. The Crimson Tide are coming off their most impressive win of the season, defeating the Mississippi State Bulldogs in blowout fashion on the road this past weekend.

Star quarterback Keelon Russell put together another impressive performance in that one as he continues to skyrocket up Heisman Trophy rankings, and recently, college football media personality Rece Davis stopped by ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show to break down the impact that Russell has had on the team so far this year.

“Alabama has been really excited about Keelon Russell for a couple of years and he's lived up to the billing. That has created some real energy in the Alabama fanbase,” he said, per Pat McAfee on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, anticipation had been brewing about Russell long before his arrival in Tuscaloosa, and the fanbase was pleased with Kalen DeBoer's decision to make him the starter heading into this season.

The development occurred amid increased pressure on DeBoer to start this year after Alabama's playoff shellacking at the hands of the eventual national champion Indiana Hoosiers this past year, and if Russell can keep up the good work moving forward, DeBoer's seat should start to cool off considerably.

Up next for Alabama is by far their toughest test of the young season so far against a Georgia team that is ranked number two in the country and yet to play a competitive game this year.

Kickoff for that contest is set for Saturday at 7:30 pm ET from Tuscaloosa.
