Drake London let his frustration show during the Atlanta Falcons’ 34-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear Monday that the wide receiver cannot allow fans to pull him into those situations.

London was caught on camera arguing with a fan near the Falcons’ sideline in the third quarter. Atlanta trailed 27-3 at the time, shortly after Cooper Rush threw his third turnover of the game. Olamide Zaccheaus was also nearby as London pointed toward the fan.

Stefanski addressed the incident on Monday and said London understands that he crossed a line.

“You can never respond to a fan,” Stefanski said. “That’s not the way we’re going to do that. Drake knows that, and he took accountability last night. That’s something he knows he needs to be better there and just be a pro. You can never do that.”

Stefanski added that everyone on the team needs to stay composed when things go wrong.

“In the moment, he has to be a pro,” Stefanski said. “We all have to be pros in that moment and take the high road.”
London also accepted responsibility after the game. He said the fan made personal comments, but acknowledged that responding was not the right move.

“I’m going to be honest here: I don’t take light to disrespect at all,” London said. “I don’t care who you are. I’m a man too, at the end of the day. So, if you want to get on a personal level, I can get there, too. But that’s not the right thing. So, I got to take accountability for that, and I got to push forward and be the bigger man in some of those situations.”

London led Atlanta with four catches for 51 yards. The Falcons now sit at 0-2 and face a short week before hosting the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
