Baron Davis approaches the conversation about injuries with experience on the court. While discussing Fanatics’ expanded FAIR PLAY protection in an exclusive interview, he reflected on competing through physical setbacks and how players handle them today.

“Man, it can happen in the blink of an eye,” Davis said.

He explained that injuries can strike before tipoff or moments into a game, pointing to the possibility of someone undercutting a player during an early possession. Davis also described himself as “a player that was injured a lot and played through injuries.”

For his generation, he said, those experiences “built your armory and pedigree.” He contrasted that environment with today’s approach, saying players now benefit from more medical support and coaching resources that help them recover faster from injuries his peers struggled to overcome.

His comments put a player’s perspective alongside a campaign addressing what happens to eligible wagers when an injury ends someone’s night.

How Fanatics’ FAIR PLAY protection works

Fanatics says its FAIR PLAY Max pledge extends injury protection through all four quarters for qualifying NFL and NBA player props. The coverage applies automatically, without fees, tokens, or an enrollment step, for every customer throughout both seasons.

When an injured player exits without returning before halftime, Fanatics voids the affected selection. It refunds the stake for a single wager, while the other parlay selections continue.

Qualifying injuries after halftime trigger FanCash compensation following the game. Parlays with outstanding selections must finish settling before customers receive that credit.

FanCash also works beyond wagering, including merchandise, trading cards, and tickets.

Baron Davis described participating in the campaign as “something fun to do.” His closing pitch kept that same energy.

“We switching over. It’s the BD way,” he said.
