The Minnesota Vikings were enjoying their bye week undefeated, but they'll be back in action in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Ahead of the game, they've received some good news surrounding their running back room, as Jordan Mason is set to return to the field, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

“Vikings RB Jordan Mason has been designated for return. His practice window opens, though he’s still on IR,” Rapoport wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Mason suffered a hand injury in Week 1 that forced him to go on injured reserve, and it's good news that he's been able to progress at the right time to return. It looks like he could be back in the coming weeks, if not against the Colts, and that should be no problem, as Aaron Jones Sr. has led the backfield.

When Mason returns, it's uncertain how the Vikings will plan on splitting the carries, but they know they have two capable running backs that could shoulder the load.

The Vikings have been steady on offense, and Kyler Murray has been a key piece at the quarterback position. His ability to use his legs has also been key, and it's given the Vikings the ability to extend drives.

As much as the offense has been doing its job, the defense is carrying the Vikings. By no surprise, it's because of Brian Flores, and there's no doubt he knows how to dial up the best defensive plays. They have one of the best units in football, and it's a huge reason why they're still undefeated.
