The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) are favored over the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) in London, and the number tells the story: Philadelphia is a road underdog by as many as 7 points, a spot the Eagles haven't been in for years. A depleted offense and a Jaguars defense that has allowed just 53 points all season make Jacksonville the clear side.

Eagles vs. Jaguars Key Injuries

Philadelphia's list reads like a roster of its best players. Running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is likely out and considered week-to-week after leaving the Rams loss after four snaps. Tank Bigsby (core muscle) is headed to injured reserve, leaving Will Shipley as the last healthy running back on the active roster.

The offensive line took another hit when Lane Johnson announced his retirement this week. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert remain questionable, as do linebacker Zack Baun, edge rusher Jonathan Greenard and cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

Jacksonville is in better shape but has some concerns in the secondary. Safeties Eric Murray (concussion) and Caleb Ransaw (knee) are questionable after leaving Sunday's win over Cincinnati, and cornerback Montaric Brown missed that game.

Eagles vs. Jaguars Betting Trends

The Eagles have not covered the spread yet this season, and three of their four games have gone over the total. Jacksonville is 3-1 against the spread, with only one of its four games going over.

The Jaguars have covered 14 of their last 21 games against the spread and won 15 of their last 21 straight up.

Keys to Eagles vs. Jaguars Matchup

Philadelphia's offense is the main problem. It went 0-for-12 on third down against the Rams, the most third-down attempts without a conversion by the franchise since at least 1991. Jalen Hurts faced pressure on 57.6% of his dropbacks, and the Eagles have yet to top 24 points in a game while averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

Jacksonville's defense is built to exploit that. The Jaguars have six interceptions through four games, tied for the NFL lead entering Monday, and their defense ranked second in red-zone success rate allowed (20%) before Sunday. They blitz on third-and-long only 21.1% of the time, but the Rams' blueprint of heavy pressure on third down worked.

The Eagles' best hope is a defense that held a 20-10 lead on the Rams until the final four minutes, plus Jacksonville's 13 penalties in the Bengals win. Even so, they travel late, arriving in London less than 36 hours before kickoff.

Eagles vs. Jaguars Prediction and Pick

Jacksonville has the better defense, a healthier roster and an Eagles offense that is struggling to move the chains. Without Barkley, Bigsby and Johnson, Philadelphia has little to lean on against a unit that rarely gives up points.

The Eagles' defense can keep it close, but the margin should favor Jacksonville late. The line sits close to a key number, so shop for the best price.

Take the Jaguars to win and cover, with the under also appealing at 42.5.

Prediction: Jaguars 24, Eagles 14
