The Denver Broncos face a battered Los Angeles Chargers team that may roll without wide receiver Ladd McConkey. But Denver received welcoming news involving star cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

Head coach Sean Payton dropped some big news there, shared via ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

“Broncos HC Sean Payton told reporters that he does not expect that Denver will have to place CB Pat Surtain, who injured his ankle Sunday at San Franciso, on injured reserve,” Schefter posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
