The Philadelphia Eagles will be without Jalen Hurts indefinitely after there was a blood clot found in his calf. At this point, Hurts' health is the most important thing for the team, and he will go through treatment for the blood clot. Now, Tanner McKee will be the starting quarterback, and he shared the words that Hurts had for him following the news.
“He kind of just turned to me and said, ‘Looks like you’re the guy this week.’ He's an unbelievable teammate; he expressed a lot of confidence in me,” McKee said. “He said he's going to have my back if I need anything. He's obviously an unbelievable resource for me. He's been a great resource for me every game that we've been together for the last four years, and he's going to continue to be.”
Eagles backup QB Tanner McKee kept his conversation with Jalen Hurts about Hurts’ condition private, but said Hurts “kinda just turned to me and said, ‘Looks like you’re the guy this week.’”

McKee has all the tools he needs to be successful on the field, and having a person like Hurts helping him will be key. His first test will be against the Carolina Panthers, and things won't be that easy for him as there are several key players injured.
Article Continues BelowSaquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith didn't play last week due to hamstring injuries, and it's uncertain if they'll suit up this week either. Along with Barkley, the Eagles' two other running backs, Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby, will be out with injuries as well.
It definitely hasn't been an ideal start to the season for the Eagles, but that just means it's next man up for the group.
