Dak Prescott revealed that the Dallas Cowboys defense looks to be different as they seek a resurgence to strong form following a poor start to the 2026 season.

Dallas has only managed to win two of its first five games of the season. The defense isn't faring well this season. They conceded 136 total points so far this campaign, an average of 27.2 points per contest. They must figure out their issue immediately before it takes a turn for the worst.

The Cowboys have made a tweak to their defensive staff. They hired Mike Pettine on Oct. 12 as a senior defensive analyst, embracing a new approach to how they can improve on that side of the ball. Prescott expressed how the team has unity on that front after going through a players-only meeting, per reporter Nick Harris.

“Absolutely, just in the way they’ve approached it. Bringing in a new coach [Mike Pettine], adding his scheme to what they’re already doing,” Prescott said.
