With Jalen Hurts out indefinitely due to a blood clot, the Eagles are bringing in another quarterback from a division rival.
According to multiple reports, Philadelphia is signing Joe Milton off of Dallas’ practice squad.
Milton, a sixth-round pick in 2024, is known for his big arm. Drafted by the Patriots, he was traded to Dallas last year. But the Cowboys did not keep him on their initial 53-man roster this season, waiving him and signing him to the practice squad.
To this point, Milton has not started a game in his NFL career. He’s appeared in five contests, completing 37-of-53 passes for 424 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s also rushed for 66 yards with a TD.
Milton signing with Philadelphia may close the door to a reunion with veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, who was released earlier this month. Dalton reportedly has been mulling multiple offers.
The Eagles will play the Panthers on Sunday afternoon. Tanner McKee is expected to start.
