The Philadelphia Eagles look extremely unsettled coming out of Week 4. Not only did the Eagles collapse against the Rams, but they also saw Lane Johnson shockingly retire in the middle of the season. Is Philadelphia on the verge of rebuilding despite starting the 2026 season 2-2?

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano discussed which coaches may be on the hot seat in a recent article. They debated whether or not head coach Nick Sirianni is in danger headed into Week 5.

“What happens if things turn really bad in Philadelphia? Obviously, the Eagles aren't afraid to move off an offensive coordinator after one disappointing season, but could things get bad enough that Super Bowl-winning head coach Nick Sirianni has to start watching his back?” Graziano asked.

Sirianni has an impressive resume after several successful seasons in Philadelphia. But the Eagles were a mess in 2025, especially on offense, and things look even worse this season.

The Johnson retirement could be the beginning of the end for Sirianni's regime. The Eagles have always had an incredible offensive line in recent years. If that changes, the Eagles could struggle to operate their offense even more than they already have.

Fowler seems to think that anything could happen to Sirianni, especially if Philly can't fix their offense in a hurry.

“With Philly, it has been proved that if owner Jeffrey Lurie and GM Howie Roseman identify a problem on the field, they will find a solution,” Fowler wrote. “Sometimes that involves the head coach. Another up-and-down season would inevitably keep Sirianni's name in the leaguewide conversation, despite him winning 70% of his games and having a Super Bowl ring. But this is Philly, where anything is possible.”

The Eagles are still in a solid position at 2-2 on the season. But they'll need to start stacking some wins to change the narrative around the team.

Unfortunately, nothing will get easier for Philadelphia in Week 5 as they face off against an emerging AFC powerhouse.

Next up for the Eagles is a road game against the Jaguars in London.
