After taking a brutal loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, it makes sense that Nick Sirianni really wants to lock in and get the Philadelphia Eagles working at the Jefferson Health Training Complex to solidify their overall identity.
The problem? The team has a game in London on Sunday, which throws a wrench into every team's plans.
Taking to reporters on Monday after the loss, Sirianni revealed that the Eagles are going to practice all week in Philly before flying out to London on Friday, noting that he believes this gives Philadelphia the best chance to get better and position themselves to win the early-morning contest.
Article Continues Below“We felt like leaving Friday was best for our team, this team, and with the schedule that we have with the weeks coming up,” Sirianni said via The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. “At the end of the day, I got to make those decisions and this is the decision I chose, with the help of great people.”
Now granted, the Eagles wanting to be more like the Rams after taking a brutal loss to McVay's squad in Week 4 isn't the worst idea, as there's a lot to admire about a team fielding a dead to rights coming back to secure a punchout victory – like recording a single net passing yard in the fourth quarter. But flying out late to an international game, even if going from Philly to London isn't exactly Los Angeles to Melbourne, isn't the best lesson to learn, especially against a 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars team that is heavily favored to win the game.
