Iowa stunned Michigan football with a dramatic 20–19 win at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor this week. The dramatic result also gave Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green plenty of reasons to celebrate.

When Iowa handed Michigan the heartbreaking defeat with a walk-off touchdown at the Big House, Green certainly wasn’t going to watch the moment quietly. Fox College Sports shared footage of the Michigan State Spartans alum going wild as he celebrated the Wolverines’ stunning loss.

Green spent four seasons with the Michigan State Spartans, where the heated rivalry with Michigan remains a major part of the state’s sports culture. Because of his strong connection to Michigan State, Green and countless Spartan alumni naturally have plenty to celebrate whenever the Wolverines suffer a defeat.

During the high-intensity matchup, Michigan came out firing and quickly established a big lead. However, Iowa refused to let the game get away, remaining within striking distance with explosive special-teams plays and timely defensive stops that kept the Hawkeyes alive.

Then, with just two seconds left and the game coming down to its final play, Hank Brown dropped back and delivered a perfectly placed 16-yard pass toward the corner of the end zone. Reece Vander Zee came down with the catch for the touchdown, completing Iowa’s dramatic comeback and securing the road victory for the Hawkeyes.

The victory was particularly significant for Iowa, as the Hawkeyes had not defeated a ranked Big Ten opponent since their 2021 victory over No. 4 Penn State.

However, for Michigan, the result was far more than an ordinary loss. The Wolverines suffered a painful late-game collapse after allowing Iowa to put together two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter, ultimately turning a game they had controlled early into a devastating defeat.

Now sitting at 3–1, Michigan will have to put the disappointing loss behind it as the Wolverines shift their focus toward their upcoming matchup against Minnesota.
