The Cincinnati Bengals should feel a sense of urgency after Week 3. Cincinnati lost a close game to Pittsburgh where every unit on the team contributed to blowing the game. Fortunately, the Bengals just made one roster move that show give them more firepower on offense.
The Bengals have reunited with wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley after signing him off the Texans' practice squad, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Cincinnati is adding Tinsley to their active roster.
Tinsley spent the entire 2025 season with the Bengals, playing in all 17 games. He logged eight receptions for 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Tinsley was also a big contributor on special teams.
The 27-year-old receiver spent the entire offseason with Cincinnati, including training camp. However, he ultimately decided to sign with the Texans and joined their practice squad before the regular season.
Now Tinsley is back and could play a noticeable role on offense this season.
Cincinnati has a pretty powerful need for a reliable WR3 behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. That role normally falls on Andrei Iosivas, but he is on injured reserve with a thumb injury. Meanwhile, rookie Colbie Young did not play in Week 3 because of a knee injury. The only players behind him on the depth chart are Dohnte Meyers and Ke'Shawn Williams, who muffed a punt against the Steelers.
It will be fascinating to see how long it takes before Tinsley is playing significant snaps for Cincinnati. Normally a player in this situation will need time to acclimate to a new team. But since Tinsley spent the offseason with the Bengals, that transition could be incredibly short.
Next up for the Bengals is a Week 4 matchup against the Jaguars.
