Patriots quarterback Drake Maye heard a lot of criticism in September, but it faded away in October.

After throwing six interceptions during a 1-2 start to the season, Maye guided the Patriots to a 3-1 mark last month. Maye threw multiple touchdowns in all four of New England’s games, including four in the team’s win over the Raiders.

He was 90-of-134 for 1,199 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions in those games and he also ran 23 times for 129 yards and two more scores.

The NFL announced on Wednesday that they have named Maye the AFC offensive player of the month. It’s the first time he has received the award.
