It has only been about six months since Hailee Steinfeld gave birth to her first daughter with Josh Allen, but it has flown by for the actress.

She appeared on Live with Kelly & Mark on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, ahead of the release of her upcoming animated movie, Hexed, and talked about motherhood.

Steinfeld is in awe of how quickly the time has flown. She has received advice that told her to temper expectations, they told her, “You will be convinced your child is a genius when they're doing things on track.” However, she is still amazed and convinced her daughter is a “genius” because she's already crawling.

“She is six months, and I feel like she's six months and also four weeks and also five years old,” Steinfeld admitted. “Time is crazy, how it works. She is totally on the move, crawling around.”

Being a parent has come with some helpful advice. Steinfeld told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that she finds time for herself, which is key. It might look a “little different,” but she still finds time for it.

“This season of life has definitely taught me to slow down and really just soak in the small pockets of joy that are truly all around us,” Steinfeld said. “Time to myself, time for myself looks a little different now, but I find it.”

Steinfeld and Allen announced the birth of their daughter in April 2026. They had announced Steinfeld's pregnancy a few months earlier in December 2025.

Things seem to be going smoothly, as they all dressed up for Halloween. Steinfeld and Allen dressed up as the Queen and King of Hearts, respectively, while their daughter was dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
