Dolphins running back De’Von Achane’s season is over after he suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs and the Dolphins made a roster move related to the injury on Monday.
Achane was placed on injured reserve as part of a series of roster moves in Miami. The Dolphins also waived defensive lineman Keith Cooper off of the 53-man roster and released defensive linemen Clelin Ferrell and Jordan Miller from the practice squad.
Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said at a Monday press conference that his “heart breaks” for Achane and said that all of the team’s other running backs will have roles in filling in for him.
Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon are the other backs on the 53-man roster, but the Dolphins could add to that group now that they have two open roster spots at their disposal.
