With media day around the NBA officially underway, fans can finally get a glimpse of LeBron James in a Philadelphia 76ers uniform and learn how his teammates feel about “The King” coming to town after a decade-long courtship.

For Tyrese Maxey, the seeming heart and soul of the 76ers, the addition of his fellow Klutch client made all the sense in the world on the court and in the locker room, but it does include one drawback that he didn't expect at his seventh professional media day.

“I wanted Bron, I didn't want all of y'all,” Maxey jokes via The Philly Voice's Adam Aaronson.

Now granted, it's not like the 76ers have been the NBA's great afterthought over the last decade or anything. They've made it to the playoffs in five of Maxey's six professional seasons and have employed some of the biggest stars in the game even before adding James and Jaylon Brown, from James Harden, to Paul George, and even Ben Simmons, who was a multi-time All-Star before the wheels fell off.

And yet, even in the 76ers' best season of the Joel Embiid-era, they weren't considered certified NBA Finals contenders like they are now, despite playing mere hours away from the New York Knicks, who James admitted he would have played for had they not secured the sport's ultimate prize over the summer. The external pressure is now on more than ever for the 76ers to bring back their first championship this century, and with that comes additional coverage, much to the chagrin of Mr. Maxey.
