The Chicago Bulls held their 2026-27 Media Day at the United Center on Monday. It was the first opportunity for the organization to set the tone for a season of rebuilding, the right way, that is. Naturally, many of the questions focused on what to expect from Caleb Wilson.

Later in the day, third-year player Matas Buzelis walked into the room. He was asked about the tandem he and Wilson are anticipated to form and the friendship they have cultivated. Matas was very modest, to say the least.

While he said that he and Wilson are still getting to know one another, he led into what is to come that could blow the league out of the water.

“Honestly, it's been a short time,” Buzelis said to Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times. “I've been trying to build as much chemistry as possible with him. He's been very open to it. So I've had the chance to hang out with him. It's been great. The more basketball we play, the better our chemistry will be. I've been mainly focusing on that. Of course, we have a busy schedule. We're working out. It's been a short period of time. Of course, I know we can do something special; it's just a matter of time.

Wilson and Buzelis were seen at a Cubs game alongside Bears QB Caleb Williams. They were on hand at Wrigley Field to cheer on eventual MVP and Cubs CF Pete Crow-Armstrong.

In the offseason, Buzelis has been working to build his physique to match his explosive play. Buzelis and Wilson also scrimmaged during the offseason. Their partnership will certainly be something to savor this year.
