The Miami Dolphins were able to get their first win of the season in Week 7 against the New York Jets, and it was probably the best game they played so far. They were sharp on offense, and it was hard for the Jets to stop anything that Malik Willis was doing, but it was the run game that stepped up. Ollie Gordon finished the game with 103 yards and a touchdown, and the hope is that he continues that production as the lead back with De'Von Achane out.

Surprisingly enough, the Dolphins have been one of the better rushing teams in the league since Achane's injury, according to Reddit.

“Since losing De'Von Achane for the season with a torn ACL in week 3, the Miami Dolphins are 2nd in the NFL in average rushing yards per game,” a user on Reddit wrote.

Not many people would've probably expected that stat, especially since Achane is the running back he is. Nonetheless, it looks like Gordon is holding things down, and they'll have to rely on him as the season continues.

The Dolphins were also able to get head coach Jeff Hafley his first win, and after the game, he shared a heartfelt message to the team.

“I wanted them to feel this,” Hafley said. “All the hard work, all the things we've been asking them to do since OTA's,” Hafley explained. “That's one we'll all remember as we build this thing.”

Hopefully, the Dolphins can build on the momentum they have, as their next game comes against the New England Patriots next week.
