While plenty has changed for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into 2026, one of the biggest has to be Jeff Stoutland's decision to exit the organization after 13 seasons.

Widely considered the best offensive line coach in the NFL who helped establish the Eagles as one of the best rushing teams in the league, Stoutland's presence has been sorely missed by many a fan in Philadelphia, especially as young players like Markel Bell, Drew Kendall, and Willie Lampkin have been thrust into action as of late.

Discussing Coach Stout's exit and any regrets that come along with it on 94WIP, Nick Sirianni shot down the idea that losing any one coach is the reason for his team's recent struggles, as football is known as the ultimate team sport for a reason.

“I like to say this, like I love Coach Stout and owe him an awful lot, you know, with everything that he brought to the table and, you know, but I would, but, you know, and I think it's natural, like when the season's not going the way you want it to go, look for answers, look for, you know, in your guy's spot, look for the blame and all those different things. And I think like to cast it on one person is crazy because it's a team game,” Sirianni said.

Interesting stuff, right? Well, Sirianni was just getting started, as he wanted to give a special shout-out to current offensive line coach Chris Kuper, who has been working hard to fill Stoutland's shoes in 2026.

“Chris Kuper is working his a** off. He is busting his a** because, you know, to help these guys and, you know, listen to what the players say about them, you know, and I, and, and, and the things that they're saying about them. Like I watch them on a daily basis, be the same guy, every situation, bust his a** in every situation, look for solutions, coach, coach, hard, all the things,” Sirianni said.

“And I, and I find Chris to be a very good coach, you know, but, and I, but I understand the question just with where we are, like, you know, I mean, obviously we're in the situation we're in with a different offense because we weren't, we didn't, we weren't great on offense last year, you know, for a long portion of the time, right? And so, you know, we, we guys got to continue to get better. We can't focus on any of that, but my endorsement for Chris Kuper is high. And I think he's a hell of a football coach and, and I think he'll continue to get better as a football coach as he continues on. But, you know, I love, I love the, I love the way he comes to work every single day.”

Would the Eagles be better off with Stoutland still running the show on the offensive line? Potentially so, but after being effectively demoted from his run-game coordinator role in 2025, it's worth wondering if that option was even on the table heading into the season or if Stoutland was looking to make a career change no matter what.
