The Los Angeles Chargers are in a world of trouble to open up the 2026 NFL season. The Chargers lost at home once again on Sunday, this time against the Las Vegas Raiders, and the team now has a slate of several straight opponents who fancy themselves Super Bowl contenders coming up on the schedule.

The Chargers' offense, which was supposed to receive a boost under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, has looked absolutely listless so far through two games, and recently, former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky stopped by The Pat McAfee Show to share his dismay.

“Yesterday isn't a Justin Herbert thing.. There was 6 or 7 legit jaw dropping drops on that tape and their interior offensive line is absolutely atrocious right now.. The Chargers look remarkably unprepared,” said Orlovsky, per Pat McAfee on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, the Chargers' receivers had some brutal drops in the game against the Raiders, and the offensive line also struggled mightily to hold up in protection against Maxx Crosby and company.

Still, Herbert is unlikely to receive too much sympathy at this point after years of being propped up as a hypothetical superstar, with little tangible success to show for it.

“Never to blame, what 7 years in and still everyone else’s fault every time,” wrote one fan in the comment section.

“Let’s get more excuses going. Please more more more,” chimed in another.

Taking a look at the upcoming schedule, there's a legit possibility that the Chargers could start out at 0-9 this year, that is, if the same version of them that lost to the Raiders and Arizona Cardinals at home shows up.

Los Angeles will next hit the field on Sunday for a road game vs the Buffalo Bills.
