Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong is likely going to win the National League MVP Award. Although the Cubs stumbled in the first round of the postseason, PCA turned in al electric regular season. He became the seventh player in MLB history to record a 40/40 season, and Crow-Armstrong achieved many other impressive feats as well. The Cubs star received an award before his expected MVP honor on Tuesday, however. Baseball America named PCA its 2026 MLB Player of the Year.

It's not surprising to see Crow-Armstrong land the honor. He does just about everything well on the field.

As mentioned, he had a 40/40 season with 41 stolen bases and a league-leading 45 long balls. Speaking of leading the league, Crow-Armstrong also turned in the best marks with these statistics: 9.8 WAR (per Baseball Reference), 119 runs scored, .570 slugging percentage, .943 OPS, 156 OPS-plus and 357 total bases.

His Baseball Savant page will make the baseball analytic guys smile to say the least. His offensive rankings are beyond impressive. Meanwhile, he ranked in the 100th percentile for outs above average while playing a premier position in center field. He's also in the 93rd percentile in arm value and 90th percentile in arm strength.

As evidenced by his 41 steals, Crow-Armstrong also runs well. In fact, he's in the 95th percentile for sprint speed.

He's an incredible all-around player. The Cubs' goal is to win the World Series. While they fell short of that feat this year, Chicago will feel confident about its chances of reaching in the Fall Classic in the near future with Baseball America's MLB Player of the Year leading the way.
