The Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens are clashing in Week 3 in Brazil, and all of the talk should be around the matchup between two of the most explosive offenses in all of football. Instead, the discussion continues to center around the field conditions in Rio.
Pictures of the grass have been circulating throughout the week, raising safety concerns about the field and the playing conditions.
Before the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talked about the grass and how he will continue to check the conditions throughout Sunday afternoon, via Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.
“That’s the real test. Pushing off,” Jones said. “The big boys pushing off. This first blush looking at it, especially since we're not in some driving rainstorm right now, it’s pretty solid. At halftime we’ll have another look at it.”
Jones later called the field conditions “acceptable,” which won't inspire much confidence in the minds of fans.
