The Jets are back within one score in Detroit, but they lost a key offensive player on the way to the end zone.
Running back Breece Hall went to the sideline medical tent after getting hurt on a run inside the Lions’ 5-yard-line. Geno Smith threw a touchdown to tight end Jeremy Ruckert on the next play to cut the Lions’ lead to 24-16 with 11:17 left to play.
The Jets went for two and were not able to convert, so the Lions will be up eight when they get the ball back.
Hall appeared to suffer a lower body injury, but the team has not announced the exact nature of his issue at this point.
