The Dallas Cowboys did not start the 2026 season on a high note. Dallas lost against the Giants on Sunday Night Football, immediately falling behind in the NFC East. One Cowboys defender is ready to take his game to the next level after staying quiet during the season opener.

Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams declared that he can do more than he did against the Giants in upcoming games. He will be holding himself to a higher standard in Week 2.

“I expect to dominant every single week. I wasn’t that, I got to be better,” Williams said on Wednesday, per Cowboys writer Clarence Hill Jr.

Williams did make a decent impact on the game in the season opener. He logged three total tackles with one forced fumble against the Giants. But Quinnen holds himself to a much higher standard and will raise the bar for his next game.

It was not Quinnen alone who struggled against New York. In fact, one stat shows that Dallas' defense was horrible in Week 1. The Cowboys only forced two stops against the Giants on seven defensive possessions. Four of those drives resulted in touchdowns, which the last one simply milked the clock.

But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not ready to panic after just one game. He doesn't plan to make any changes just yet.

“The first game unquestionably was important: don’t get me wrong,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, per Joseph Hoyt. “I saw nothing on review that tells me we should depart away from the plan we have to get better on defense.”

The pressure will be on Dallas to play better defense in Week 2. Cowboys fans can rest assured that Williams will do his part.

Next up for the Cowboys is a home game against the Commanders. This NFC East matchup kicks off at 4:25PM ET on September 20th from AT&T Stadium.
