The Commanders are out to a fast start with Jayden Daniels back at quarterback.
Daniels hooked up with tight end Chig Okonkwo twice for 34 yards on the team’s opening possession against the Giants and running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt took care of the rest. Croskey-Merritt went 33 yards for a score that put the Commanders up 6-0 after two minutes of play.
Kicker Drew Stevens missed the extra point, so that remains the score ahead of the Giants’ first possession.
Daniels missed two games after dislocating his left elbow. He is wearing a brace on that arm, but it didn’t hinder him on the opening drive.
