On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs saw their undefeated record take its first blemish with an ugly loss to the Seattle Seahawks on the road in primetime. The Chiefs weren't able to get much of anything going on offense in this one, putting just three points on the board en route to a blowout loss.
Now, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN has taken to the airwaves to diagnose Kansas City's biggest need ahead of the upcoming NFL trade deadline: the wide receiver room.
“If you look at the Kansas City Chiefs, they are calling around at least to see what they could potentially add. Now, they should get Rashee Rice back. He's been out with that hamstring for the last three weeks, but you saw it last night. Patrick Mahomes trying to throw the ball when the Seattle defense was stopping the run… it's a bit of a struggle with their passing game,” he said, per his account on X, formerly Twitter.
Article Continues BelowMany have floated the idea of a potential Chiefs reunion with longtime star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who is working his way back from a devastating leg injury last year and has yet to sign with a new team. While Hill might not solve all of the Chiefs' wide receiver problems, it's clear that the team needs to do something in that department in order to give Mahomes the tools he needs in order to thrive, especially when teams are selling out to stop the run, as the Seahawks did against their former star Kenneth Walker III Sunday night.
In any case, the Chiefs will next hit the field next Sunday for a tough road game vs the Denver Broncos.
