Coach Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs escaped Week 2's clash against the Colts with a 33-30 win on the strength of Eric Bieniemy's offense's banner day. The game was tied at 10 early in the second quarter when Harrison Butker missed a kick that marred a nearly flawless game from Patrick Mahomes.

Butker has faced criticism from fans but star defensive tackle Chris Jones had his back in a postgame press conference. “Listen, they talk about my kicker, like…Y'all as a whole down(ed) my kicker last year, and I just got two middle fingers to y'all, like, I love Butt, I trust in Butt and I think Butt is the best kicker in the league, and I'm going to continue to support my kicker. Listen, nobody is perfect, even though we want Butt to make 'em all, sometimes you're not, it's just the cycle of life, that's where adversity comes in, that's why I support Butt, cuz he stand tall every time and he face it like a man.

The Chiefs entered the new week ranked in the top 15 of the latest NFL Power Rankings and are trending towards a September 27 meetup with the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium. Their kicking game doesn't figure to matter nearly as much against a Dolphins team that looks overmatched on paper, but the NFL is a challenge each week no matter the opponent.

Jones, Reid and Butker's team is expected to be a big favorite against the Dolphins leading up to the game, which will provide another stage for Jones and Butker to show they're among the league's best at their positions.
