The Los Angeles Chargers are still searching for their first win of the season, and at this point, it's hard to tell when they'll get it. As their struggles continue, all eyes have been on Mike McDaniel since the offense hasn't played well at all. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise if he's the first person fired, and if so, the Chargers apparently have his replacement ready, according to Mike Florio of PFT.
“There’s a growing buzz that the Chargers will be making that move, soon. Pass game specialist Adam Gase, a former head coach of the Jets and Dolphins, is expected to take over, if McDaniel is fired,” Florio wrote.
With Gase having experience in the role, it should be an easy transition for him to make. As for McDaniel, it's uncertain what will be next for him.
After their recent loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Jim Harbaugh talked about the struggles on offense and what needs to be done to fix it.
“We have to address everything guys and especially offensively. We’re not scoring enough points,” Harbaugh said. “We’re going to look at everything. The job I'm doing, it starts with me. The plan is we’ll watch this and get with our offensive coaches. … [Offense] Needs to be addressed.”
Last week, McDaniel addressed his job security, and he knows how quickly things can change in the league.

When you have high expectations, and you’re getting the results we’re getting, that’s pretty standard operating procedure as I’ve seen in the National Football League in my experience.”
It'll be interesting to see what the Chargers do as they head into their bye week.
