One of the Chargers’ offensive tackles is now on the mend.

Los Angeles announced on Friday that left tackle Rashawn Slater underwent successful ankle surgery on Friday and will be placed on injured reserve.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes it was a tightrope procedure, which should accelerate Slater’s return from a high-ankle sprain.

Slater, the No. 13 overall pick of the 2021 draft, missed all of last season due to a torn patellar tendon suffered in training camp.

This is now the third season significantly impacted by injury for Slater, who also missed much of the 2022 season with a torn biceps.
