The New Orleans Saints were embarrassed on defense vs. Atlanta and couldn't keep up on offense as running back Alvin Kamara suffered a back injury. Star receiver Chris Olave got an injury update ahead of Week 5's clash vs. the Vikings while Kamara was listed on the injury report.

The injury report listed Kamara as questionable for the Vikings game, noting he did not practice on Wednesday and was limited during Thursday and Friday's practices.

The Saints' offense is a huge question mark leading up to the game as QB Tyler Shough has been battling a hand injury. Shough, Olave and Kamara form the backbone of the Saints' offense, combining youth and experience together for the team's Kellen Moore and Doug Nussmeier-led unit.

Kamara proved to be a short yardage star in Week 4 against the Falcons, scoring two touchdowns while recording less than 30 yards. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson lit the Saints' defense up with 145 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-24 win. The Saints got 286 yards and a touchdown from Shough against the Falcons, but coordinator Brandon Staley's defense let the team down early and often.

The Vikings are a team with a strong defense and a ton of potential on offense who got an update on Justin Jefferson's injury status ahead of Week 5's game. The Saints will try to keep him off the field via the running game if he does play.

Kamara's presence would help to solidify a Saints running game that needs consistency and veteran leadership. His situation is one to keep an eye on as the week continues to unfold.
