The Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans have made unfortunate NFL history heading into Week 6 of the 2026 season, becoming the first three teams from the same conference to start 0-5 in 28 years.

According to ESPN Insights, all three winless teams reside in the AFC, marking a rare occurrence across the league.

“We haven't seen this in 28 years 😳

Three teams are 0-5 this season, and they're ALL in the AFC 😱”

The historically poor starts have placed all three franchises in difficult positions entering the second month of the regular season, with each team still searching for its first victory.

The Chargers will face arguably the toughest challenge of the three teams when they visit the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

Los Angeles entered the season hoping to build on its 11-6 campaign in 2025, which ended with a wild-card playoff loss to the New England Patriots. However, the Chargers have struggled to find consistency despite adding former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator.

Meanwhile, Miami enters its Week 6 bye still searching for its first victory under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley. The Dolphins are also dealing with the loss of star running back De'Von Achane, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 3.

Miami will return to action in Week 7 against the New York Jets (2-3) on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Titans face a similar challenge as they prepare to visit the Indianapolis Colts (2-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

With all three teams already five games below .500, the Chargers and Titans will look to avoid 0-6 starts in Week 6, while the Dolphins will have an additional week to regroup before attempting to secure their first victory.
