CC Sabathia may not have spent the longest time with the Milwaukee Brewers franchise, but there is so much love between the two parties. And in the aftermath of the Brewers' World Series triumph on Wednesday after grabbing a 4-1 win in Game 5 to seal a 4-1 series win over the Tampa Bay Rays, Sabathia was among the first to give Milwaukee their due praise.

Posting on his official account on X, the former Brewers lefty sent a huge message, congratulating the team on their latest accomplishment that immortalizes them in MLB lore.

“World Series Champions for the first time ever!! Soak it all in Milwaukee!!!” Sabathia wrote.

Sabathia knows what it's like to win a World Series title, having done so with the New York Yankees back in 2009. He surely must have wanted to win it with the Brewers during his lone season in the Cream City, but they ran into the buzzsaw that was the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS, losing in four games to the eventual World Series champion that year.

Sabathia, of course, was brilliant during his time with the Brewers. In 17 starts following a trade from the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), Sabathia put up an elite ERA of 1.65 across 130.2 innings, helping Milwaukee clinch a postseason spot via the Wild Card.

However, Sabathia's lone postseason start for the Brewers did not go according to plan. The Phillies roughed him up, scoring five earned runs on him in just 3.2 innings in what would be a 5-2 loss for Milwaukee.

Nonetheless, Sabathia was so good for the team that the Brewers still deemed him worthy to be part of the team's Wall of Honor earlier this year.

Sabathia would sign a seven-year, $161 million contract with the Yankees to leave the Brewers in free agency, and that would result in him winning his first and only World Series title. But at the very least, he saw Milwaukee finally get their breakthrough 18 years after his time with the franchise.
