Chicago Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson's mentality is fierce as he places his focus on winning over the worries of losing in his NBA career.

Wilson started the first season of his career in the league, seeing Chicago select him third overall in the 2026 draft. He has impressed six games into the campaign, showing his ceiling as a player that can benefit Chicago in the long term.

However, Chicago is going through a rebuild as many losses will follow. That won't discourage Wilson as he emphasizes the importance on having himself and the team embrace a firm winning mentality that will help them punch above their weight.

“I know that this is gonna be the most I lose in my life. I’m in the NBA now, and we’re not the team that we want to be in the future…i mean, losing games doesn’t make you a loser, but your approach to losing games and your approach to basketball, how you play, is what makes you a loser,” Wilson said, per reporter Joel Lorenzi.

“I feel like there's a lot of things that I do that rookies aren’t expected to do either. On the court, rookies aren’t expected to play the way I do, or do a lot of the things that I do. Don't have the expectations and pressure that I do.
So me being a leader is a beautiful opportunity to afford to me. But nothing that I do, I feel like, is typical.”
