It was a rough day at the office again for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Starting quarterback DanielkJones was once again awful under center for the team, as he went 19-of-28 for 144 passing yards and a touchdown against two interceptions in an embarrassing 42-7 loss to Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville
It got so bad for Jones that he was pulled from the game in the fourth quarter, as Indianapolis decided to give Anthony Richardson some playing time to finish the contest.
That was just the second time Richardson played in a game in the 2026 NFL season, and it could potentially be a start for a change at quarterback for the free-falling Colts.
After the game, Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen seemed to imply that Jones could soon lose the starting job to Richardson amid the team's struggles to win games.
“Colts HC Shane Steichen said he’s evaluating everything, including whether Daniel Jones remains the starting QB,” James Boyd of The Athletic shared via a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).
The story is still being finished.
