The Milwaukee Brewers may have jumped to a 2-0 lead in their World Series clash over the Tampa Bay Rays, having all the momentum on their side heading into a pivotal Game 3. However, the Brewers know that the series is far from over. The Fall Classic just shifted to the Rays' home at Tropicana Field, and fortunes on the baseball field could change drastically on the road — especially in the postseason.

But the Brewers have had no such troubles in Game 3, and it's thanks in large part to the stability that starting pitcher Robert Gasser brought to the team on the road. Gasser was incredible on the mound on Monday night, throwing six innings of one-hit shutout baseball with three strikeouts and just one walk to quiet the Rays.

ESPN insider Jeff Passan gushed over Gasser's performance, saying that the Brewers starter has simply dominated the Rays in such a crucial outing.

“Robert Gasser has faced the minimum through six innings. A first-inning hit erased on a caught stealing. A sixth-inning walk erased on a double play. He has thrown only 74 pitches. He's carving the Rays and will give the Brewers' bullpen much-needed rest. Masterful performance,” Passan wrote on his official X account.

It is indeed a job well done from Gasser, who lasted long enough on the mound to see the Brewers' offense explode to give him with more run support than he actually needs. Milwaukee popped off for eight runs in the fifth inning, extending their lead to 10 runs on the night, and while a game isn't over until a team gets 27 outs, it's hard to see a struggling Rays offense catching enough fire to overturn such a deficit.

Gasser has been brilliant for the Brewers this postseason. In 15 innings of work, he's allowed a total of just one earned run on seven hits, and this start against the Rays, which could be his final one of 2026, is quite the incredible way to cap off a campaign.

The Brewers secured the win in Game 3, 10-1, and they now need one more victory to call themselves champion.
