The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by a final score of 10-1 on Monday night in Game 3 of the World Series to take a 3-0 series lead. Milwaukee is now one win away from its first World Series championship in franchise history. No team has ever erased an 0-3 deficit in the Fall Classic. The Rays are turning to Griffin Jax as their starting pitcher in Game 4 in a win-or-go-home contest, per Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY.

There is going to be plenty of talk about the 0-3 deficit itself ahead of Game 4. All the Rays can do is take it one game at a time, though. Winning on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field has to be their goal. They can't make up the deficit at once.

The Rays are resilient. They are not going to go away quietly.

Jax, a 31-year-old right-handed pitcher, performed well during the regular season. He made a total of 34 outings, 23 of which were starts. The right-hander finished the regular season with a 3.53 ERA.

He's only appeared in two games so far in the MLB postseason, one of which was a start. Jax has surrendered four earned runs in his six innings of work on the mound. The Rays are going to need him to be better on Tuesday.

Rays manager Kevin Cash won't hesitate to turn to his bullpen early in Game 4 if necessary. In an ideal scenario, Jax will give the Rays four or five strong innings and leave the contest with a lead.

First pitch for Game 4 of the World Series is scheduled for 8 PM ET on Tuesday night in Tampa Bay.
