With Milwaukee Brewers star Jacob Misiorowski having a legitimate historic season for the team, he looks to continue to help the team into the postseason. As the Brewers prepare for the 2026 MLB Playoffs, manager Pat Murphy would reflect on Misiorowski's performance this past season compared to 2025.

Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Murphy was asked about his thoughts on seeing Misiorowski evolve from last season to the current time, emphasizing how much of a “beautiful story” it is. Murphy would express that the biggest difference is that he's grown as a teammate in Milwaukee.

“He's a beautiful kid, first and foremost, if you watch his operation off the field, it's him, his fiancée, his mom and dad, and it's beautiful,” Murphy said. “Like they're just this little unit. He has no idea he's the Miz. It's kind of Forrest Gump-like. Like he's just being who he's being. He can't change. He takes it all in stride. The biggest difference is this year he's a great teammate. He's not looking to fit in. Last year he didn't kind of know how he fit.”

Pat Murphy continues on Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski

Misiorowski appears to be a lock for the NL Cy Young Award as he's recorded an MLB-leading 1.86 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 186 strikeouts, to go along with a 15-5 record. Murphy highlighted how Misiorowski's delivery “is so much more consistent.”

“And then seeing him respond the way he did at the end of last year, and then going in the offseason and training the way he trained and got himself so much stronger, so therefore his delivery is so much more consistent,” Murphy said. “He still's got no idea what he's doing, but it's just fun, the maturation. You know, he's taking that next step. But like I said, there's many more steps to take. He is kind of a freak a little bit in that his extension is so good, coupled with his velo, and he's a great teammate, a great person. It's kind of fun.”

It remains to be seen how Misiorowski and the Brewers close out the 2026 season.
