The Milwaukee Brewers are currently up 2-0 in their NLCS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, having taken each of the first two games at home in relatively close fashion. The Brewers are now just two wins away from a trip to the World Series as the matchup shifts to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.
Recently, Dodgers insider Katie Woo of The Athletic spoke on the tough matchup Los Angeles is facing in the form of the Brewers.
“Each time they scored or tried to take advantage of the Brewers' honestly sloppy defense in that game, the Brewers came right back… They're like pests. They just keep coming at you, and eventually, you don't have a defense against it. That's where I thought the Dodgers looked overmatched,” she said, per Foul Territory on X, formerly Twitter.
The Brewers had the best record in baseball this year and gutted out a NLDS win over the San Diego Padres in four tightly contested games. Milwaukee now sits at 5-1 so far in these playoffs and will look to continue their success as the series against the Dodgers switches home venues.
Article Continues BelowLast year, the Brewers also hosted the Dodgers in the NLCS but were swept in unceremonious fashion. However, things look quite a bit different this time around, as Shohei Ohtani, who put together arguably the greatest game in the history of the sport last year in the series-clinching Game 4, looks like a shell of his usual self right now, with some even going so far as to speculate that a benching could be on the table.
In any case, Game 3 of this series is set for Wednesday at 8:00 pm ET from Los Angeles.
