Additionally, Xabi Alonso faces a significant injury criss after three key first-team players were absent from training, including starman Joao Pedro.

The Brazilian forward missed a majority of Tuesday's training at Cobham.

The 24-year-old has been a standout Chelsea player during this season, registering three goals and three assists in only five appearances.

Additionally, Alonso faces an even bigger injury crisis as captain Reece James and midfielder Moises Caicedo were also missing from the main group.

However, Tuesday's training session did see summer recruits Marco Palestra and Jordan Henderson participate after waiting to make their long-awaited debuts.

Brentford v Chelsea: Team news

Brentford will be without the services of Joshua Dasilva, Antoni Milambo, Nathan Collins, Sepp van den Berg, and Kafe Furo for the derby.

Additionally, Mathias Jensen is a doubt for the Premier League clash and Igor Thiago will be aiming to score his first goal of the campaign.

As for Chelsea, Pedro, Caicedo, and James both missed training on Tuesday, yet there's been no suggestion of an injury.

On the other hand, Palmer and Rogers have been in excellent form this season and will be certain starters for the fixture.

Following Pedro pulling out of the Brazil squad, Alonso said on Thursday: "In terms of injuries and the squad, we are having the last training session tomorrow so no one is ruled out for us for Friday.

"I prefer to be cautious. We will take the final decision on every player.

He added: "He's [Moises] getting closer and tomorrow we will make the final decision.

"Moi is one of the top midfielders in the world. Any team with Moi in the middle is a better team - and we are aware of that.

"We will see tomorrow, he has not been able to play and we've had to cope with that situation."

On James, he said: "No, it was just a decision for Tuesday. Tomorrow, we will decide."
